Training series available for parish ministers: Pastoral Ministers, Lay Presiders of Prayer, Companion Ministers, Lectors, Ministers of the Eucharist, and Pastoral Musicians.

We offer a variety of Training Programs and Presentations tailored to the needs of your community. Our programs are based on the vision of the Second Vatican Council:

  • Drawing us away from institutional images of Church to inspire us to build Church as community;
  • Moving us from a rigid uniformity in liturgy to a recognition of the importance of culture in liturgy;
  • Authenticating liturgy as the work of the assembly;
  • Verifying the talents, charisms and personal faith experiences of laypeople as gifts given to the entire Church;
  • Continuing to inspire and empower.

We celebrate the vibrancy of the Council and continue to venture forward on the path that the council provided by offering programs that encourage the Body of Christ in the world today to help bring forth the reign of God.

ACTS: A CALL TO SERVE
A program to train lay ministers for voluntary service.
Our presentations include a strong foundation in good theology.  Including the Who, What and How of Parish Ministry.

The What of Ministry traces our call to serve through both the Old and New Testaments, the signs and symbols of our Catholic heritage and Church documents.

Who is a Minister explores the various qualities of a minister—as a person of presence, listening and prayer. Practical communication skills are presented to enhance one’s ministry.

During the How of Ministry, participants are invited to focus on a particular kind of ministry (Pastoral Care, Worship and Leadership) and presented the tools for successful ministry.

The next ACTS training session will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 from
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM at Sanctuary at Bellbrook in Rochester Hills.
